Invasion of karakurt in Atyrau - what to do?
What to focus on first? How to fight it and what steps can you take?
Another grim prediction is coming true - the insect invasion, as expected. And, of course, arachnids as well.
People ask me - what should be done?
First of all, note that the natural enemies of karakurt spiders - wild wasps, lizards, sparrows, starlings, and other small birds - have been poisoned with harsh chemicals, along with the supposedly targeted mosquitoes, which have only increased in number.
Karakurts have entered populated areas due to flooding; their natural habitats have been submerged. And in cities, they have no natural enemies. This is the most important point.
Next, the public and agricultural workers who come into contact with animals must be widely informed, with explanations of preventive measures, how to detect and distinguish karakurt webs from others. Or, for instance, that it is better not to let camels graze on rocky areas or in tall grass right now. Pastures in general should be inspected in such cases. Though, what pastures can there be in the desert.
Where possible, use physical protection - fine mesh on windows, net barriers; barrier insecticides can also be useful, but they must be handled carefully - otherwise, natural enemies could be destroyed again.
And of course, veterinary services, on which hundreds of billions have been spent, should be ready to provide emergency care to animals. Not to mention medicine and people.
As the saying goes, doctors save people, but veterinarians save humanity.
